If not how big, slot or round port, and what should it be tuned to? I will be running 2 JL 10W7's Each will have a JL 500/1 When I bought the speakers, second hand, they were in a single box/portedI cut the box in half( first because it would not fit in the car and secondly because I wanted to do a little testing to see which would sound better) and know one is 23 1/2 x 13 3/4 x 14 3/4All outside dimensions3/4" MDFSlot portedThe second Ported boxes handle more power anywhere above tuning, it's just that they're more efficient, which leads them to be recommended more for low power setups too It's all dependant on how loud you want to get, the 12W7 will still get louder than the 10W7 with that level of power You just won't get every little ounce of potential out of it

Jl 10w7 ported box specs- It may be difficult to make the cuts for a ported box to have the back of the box contour to the back of the seat, because your port will most likely extend to the back wall, so the entire port will need to be on an angle With a sealed box tho itll be cake I personally prefer the sound of low tuned ported and wouldn't go with the JL HO box Rap/hard rock Ported I have a ported on my w6 and it can hit some good lows Its built to jl's specs and i wouldnt have put it in any generic box it has a 3739hz sweet spot EDIT you definatly need a bigger amp to power itunderpowering is just as bad as overpowering
